Privacy Policy

How client information is handled, what this site collects, and the choices you have.

Last updated October 1, 2026.

Your privacy is important to us. Read the following privacy policy. It describes how we collect, store, use, and protect personal information about you when you use this website or our services, and the choices you have. By using this site or our services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described here.

Client information

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from various sources, including:

  • Interviews regarding your tax situation
  • Applications, organizers, or other documents that supply such information as your name, address, telephone number, Social Security Number, number of dependents, income, and other tax-related data
  • Tax-related documents you provide that are required for processing tax returns, such as Forms W-2, 1099R, 1099-INT and 1099-DIV, and stock transactions

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to anyone, except as requested by our clients or as required by law.

We restrict access to personal information concerning you, except to our employees who need such information in order to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your personal information.

How we use information

We use the information you give us:

  • to respond to you when you call, email, or send a message through this site;
  • to provide tax, accounting, and bookkeeping services, and to maintain the accounts and records those services require;
  • to meet our legal and professional obligations, and to protect our rights, our clients, and the security of our records.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share information with

We do not share your personal information with anyone outside the firm, and in no event will we ever sell or rent your personal information. The only exceptions are:

  • service providers that help run the practice, such as the client portal, email hosting, and tax software, which may use your information only to provide those services;
  • disclosures you ask us to make;
  • disclosures required by law.

What this website collects

This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies, and no third-party scripts run on it. Nothing about your visit is recorded by the site itself.

The only information collected is what you choose to send: a message from the contact form, an email, or a phone call. The contact form doesn’t send or store anything itself. It opens your own email with the message filled in, and you send it from there. Your message comes to us and is used to reply to you.

Emails and text messages

We will not send you marketing emails or text messages without your consent. By providing your email address and/or phone number through the contact form, you agree to receive emails and text messages from Ryan Cornell, CPA. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.

To stop text messages, reply STOP. Reply HELP for help. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or ask at Ryan@ryancornellcpa.com.

Mobile phone numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.

Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and use reasonable electronic, personnel, and physical measures to protect it from loss, theft, alteration, or misuse. Information sent over the Internet, including by email, may not be perfectly secure, so please use the encrypted client portal rather than email for documents containing Social Security numbers, account numbers, or full dates of birth.

Hosting and fonts

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the network requests needed to deliver each page, and its own logging is governed by its policies rather than this one.

Typefaces are served from this site, so viewing a page doesn’t send a request to a font service.

The client portal and other websites

The client portal linked on this site is a separate service run by a third-party vendor at ryancornellcpa.securefilepro.com. Documents and information you submit there are handled under that vendor’s terms and privacy policy, not this one. The same applies to any other website this site links to, such as LinkedIn; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Children

This site and our services are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Your choices

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to the records we are required to keep as tax preparers. It is important that the information in our records is accurate and current, so if your details change during our relationship, please let us know.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page, and the date at the top is updated when they are made.
